All-Wheel Drive

Races are won in the curves

Now curves have met their match. The available torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) is the ultimate sport handling choice for the TLX. This sophisticated system is designed to boost high-performance dry-road handling while providing the same all-weather advantages of conventional all-wheel drive.

Take a corner like a professional driver

Turning used to be solely the job of the front wheels. The TLX changes all that with the world’s first Precision All-Wheel Steer™ (P-AWS®) system delivers unprecedented handling. Working in concert with Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®)12 and the Agile Handling Assist® dynamic braking system, P-AWS® adjusts the toe angle of each rear wheel independently for increased agility and stability while cornering, changing lanes, or braking.

Engine and Transmission

The standard TLX engine is anything but standard

The direct-injection, aluminum block, rev-happy 2.4-liter is unarguable proof that great things come in lightweight packages. Access to the feverish 206 horsepower arrives via Drive-by-Wire throttle system, which provides extra sensitivity and response.

The 8-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission was originally developed for racing. The dual-clutch design shifts faster, smoother and with greater efficiency than conventional automatic transmissions.

Driver Assistance

The best kind of backseat driver

The highly capable, road-hugging TLX prefers pavement. Using a forward-facing camera mounted above the inside rear view mirror, the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) works proactively to keep the TLX centered in a detected lane. And, if momentarily distracted, a state-of-the-art warning system can alert you to a potentially dangerous situation ahead with the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system.

Cruise Control

Conventional cruise control has always been welcome on long highway trips but is of little use on an urban driver’s daily commute. Available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with low-speed follow allows you to set a desired speed but also maintain a desired interval to the car ahead. Now you enjoy the benefits of cruise control in light traffic.

Blind Spot Sensors

TLX has your back--and your front

The Blind Spot Information (BSI) system is your second pair of eyes during lane changes. To lessen the risk of a scratched bumper, the Advance Package includes front and rear parking sensors.
